Duty-free drilling rig import for ChK VLS — VALENTIS ASIA

Challenge

Import an oversized drilling rig and reduce duties and customs payments as much as possible.

Solution

We applied for a preliminary classification decision and cleared the rig under an HS code with a zero duty rate. We used VAT offset and prepared the required permits.

Results

• Cargo delivered to the client's site
• Cleared paying only the customs processing fee
• With a cargo value of $950,000, savings of at least $152,000
