How long does cargo take from China to Kazakhstan?
Indicatively: by road via Khorgos to Almaty — 7–12 days, by rail via Dostyk or Khorgos — 15–25 days, from Japan by sea and then overland — 35–50 days. The exact time depends on the origin, border and customs load; we state it in the quote within 24 hours.
Which documents are required for customs clearance?
The contract, invoice, packing list, transport document (CMR, SMGS or bill of lading) and a technical description of the goods. For some goods — a certificate of origin, EAEU certificates or declarations of conformity, licences. We compile the list for your specific goods.
What is a preliminary classification decision?
It is an official customs ruling on the EAEU HS code of a specific product, issued before import at the trader's request. It is valid for 3 years and protects against code disputes at the border. This is how we cleared a $950,000 drilling rig under a zero-duty code and saved the client at least $152,000.
Can customs payments be reduced legally?
Yes: correct classification, a preliminary classification decision, tariff exemptions and preferences, VAT offset and a correctly determined customs value. We check these options before shipment.
