Multimodal supply scheme for Kazferrogroup

Challenge

The client imported large monthly batches of chemical raw materials from China using rail only. Timelines were unstable because of station departure delays, and costs were high. We improved transit time with road delivery to a station with frequent departures and rail service with a more stable schedule.

Solution

We designed a multimodal scheme: road and rail transportation from China to Almaty plus road delivery to the client warehouse. We negotiated low carrier rates for the volume and set up document flow for the combined route.
